A Little Bit About Ford
Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863 in rural Dearborn, MI. Growing up in a very steampunk world, Ford left his family farm and worked various jobs, from machinist, factory worker, to chief engineer at Edison Illuminating Company. This particular role opened his eyes to a whole new world of internal combustion engines. In 1896, Ford created a Quadricycle, a four wheeled two speed bicycle-like contraption that was self propelled and used a tiller for steering. Unfortunately, this Quadricycle had no reverse -- so much for parallel parking. At 40 years old, Henry founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903 with a pocketful of cash* and a vision... the rest is history. *Some of that moolah came from John Dodge and Horace Dodge aka The Dodge Brothers.
